Well..? The surprising answer is: YES!!! There are limits of course but let us explain the goof that happened allowing you to take advantage of it while it’s still in place.
It used to be that cannabis and THC were a black market commodity (ha). Now multiple states in the US and countries have legalized it for various purposes. For those states in the US where it hasn’t, it was inevitable when a few specific events took place, a massive opportunity would present itself.
So what most people know as THC is also known as Delta-9 THC and are aware just how illegal it is so exactly how are so many companies able to sell THC online now?
What made this Possible
The 2018 Farm Bill was signed and legalized hemp cultivation federally. This act created industry-wide changes by completely legalizing hemp (defined as cannabis that doesn’t contain more than 0.3 percent Delta-9 THC) by removing it and hemp derivatives from the definition of the Controlled Substance Act.
Why is this important?
This completely legalizes ALL cannabinoids derived from hemp that fits the legal limit set by the 2018 Farm Bill!
There was a giant loophole surrounding the THC cap! It states that products cannot contain more than 0.3% “by weight”!!! So, think about how much a gummy weighs. Probably tens of grams or more (if required). (tens of thousands of milligrams) A dose of thc is in the tens of milligrams. Do the math.
The 0.3% only applies to Delta-9 THC allowing companies to include other cannabinoids such as Delta-8 THC unless explicitly banned.
Summary
When this article mentioned “a massive opportunity” well, … this has led to a lot of online competition as many companies have started selling their own THC Gummies and similar products.
You can rest assured most of these products are high-quality as they still must abide by various legal restrictions. Many of them are made close to the same way and it’s mostly a preference of flavor, dose, etc.
